Two Volcano Extreme Hike

DESCRIPTION:

The most popular tour in Arenal: The Two Volcano Extreme Hike. You get picked up by a small bus in the morning at 9 am, drive to the bottom of Arenal Volcano (the ride takes about 20 min so it's hard to walk and would also not be cheap with a taxi), then hike up as far as it's allowed with a knowledgeable guide (a challenging and very adventurous experience). After hiking, you can swim in a lagoon (using a rope swing to hop in) and enjoy a nice lunch prepared by the residents of the ranger camp. After lunch, you head to Arenal Observatory Lodge by bus where you take a wonderful walk through Cerro Chato with amazing views of the volcano. You will make your down to a waterfall where you will have the chance to swim in the beautiful pool at the base if you wish. Your tour will continue into dusk where you will have the chance to see and hear the nocturnal wildlife just waking up. On this tour you will happen upon a frog pond at dusk where you can keep an eye out for nocturnal frogs! Upon making your way back to the lodge you will be able to visit a museum where you will learn about the Arenal Volcano and wildlife in the area. After your hike, you get to enjoy the natural hot springs river where you will be given a drink and a natural volcanic mud mask before you return back to your lodging relaxed and ready for bed!

Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothing. Also bring or wear your swimwear for swimming in the lake, waterfall or for the hot springs at the end. It is also recommended to bring extra snacks and water with you.
