DESCRIPTION:
Get to know this amazing city -- there is more to San José than most people expect. Every corner has a story behind it, and this tour will take you to see all the historical landmarks, museums, houses and important places in the city. The tour starts around noon on the east side of San Jose, where you will first visit the Democracy Plaza and the National Museum, the Courts, Los Yoses, the San Pedro Mall, the Hispanidad Fountain and the Rodrigo Facio Campus at the University of Costa Rica. Shortly after visiting the capital’s main attractions, you'll go to the impressive Pre-Columbian Gold Museum and the beautiful National Theater, where you will have a guided visit through these cultural gems.

We will continue to the western section of San Jose: La Sabana Metropolitan Park, the Costa Rican Contemporary Art Museum or the first International Airport in Costa Rica, the National Gymnasium, the Comptroller’s office, the residential area of Rohrmoser, the Nunciatura, the Nobel Peace prize winner Oscar Arias Sanchez’s home, the Rohrmoser Boulevard and the Pavas section.

We will finish the tour with an interesting shopping place where you will be able to buy a souvenir of your visit to San Jose. On Sunday, the National Theater is closed and we will only see the theather’s on the outside and then visit the Pre-colombian Gold Museum.

THE VARCO EXPERIENCE:
On Wednesdays and Thursdays, you have the opportunity to connect this tour with the Ram Luna Viewpoint Typical show, a dinner show with open bar in the mountains of the Central Valley. There is a little walking involved so bring comfortable walking shoes.
