La Fortuna Waterfall

Top 3 local attractions in La Fortuna. An over 500 step hike down and back up, but well worth it. This attraction it's operated by the community development association of La Fortuna (ADIFORT. All entrance fees are designated for very important community social works, including roads, orphanage, schools, sports, cultural events, security, recycle centers, among many amazing works.)

You are able to swim in the cold waters of the waterfall, or sit, rest and contemplate the stunning drop of this 197 feet tall waterfall.

THE VARCO EXPERIENCE:

Climbing down 500 steps it's easy, hiking back up is the tough part. This is a challenging hike but well worth it. There is look out point at the beginning in case people prefer to enjoy it from far away. A delicious restaurant can be found on site. Bring comfortable shoes, a change of clothes, a towel, sun block and bathing suit. Showers, bathrooms and changing rooms are well kept and found on site.
